Taylor invited to National Hoop Camp

Jennifer Taylor of St. John's has been invited to attend Canada's junior national basketball try-out camp scheduled for later this week. The camp will be conducted in Winnipeg, Manitoba by head coach Tom Kendall. Athletes selected to the team will compete in the World Qualifying Tournament in Mexico at the end of August. "There are some young talented athletes in Canada," said Coach Kendall. "The success of the National Junior Championships held in Brandon, Manitoba this past week proves the potential is strong to reach the 2000 Sydney Olympics. This team will be the first to begin the process of rebuilding towards this goal." A total of 24 athletes from around the country will participate in the camp.

Jennifer is attending her final year of high school at Prince of Wales Collegiate this fall and is the daughter of Glenn and Mary Taylor who are currently coaching the Ladies Canada Games Program.
