CBS Sabres attending 1996 Junior Volleyball Nationals

The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

The 1996 Junior Nationals will be held in Sherbrooke, Quebec on May 3-5. Newfoundland will send one representative. The CBS Sabres won the right to compete in this tournament by winning the provincial junior ladies volleyball championship in Gander. The Sabres who are undefeated on the island this year also won the St. John's senior ladies crown and the Provincial Juvenile Championships.

The Sabres have plenty of experience on their team, they have five Canada Games players competing, Susan Mosher, Angie Butler, Kim Morgan, Karla George and setter Cheryl Oldford. The team's matches will be against Alberta, Quebec 1, Quebec 3, and finally Ontario 1 before the playoffs. The team is up against some strong competition since they are playing in an age category above; however, they are a solid team and should play well in every match.
