Dr. Rex Gibbons, Minister of Natural Resources, announced today that the Milner Lake caribou hunting zone is open to caribou hunting, effective immediately, adding that animals from the George River herd have now moved into this zone.

Dr. Gibbons reminded hunters that hunting is also permitted in the following caribou hunting zones: Orma North, Orma South, Michikimau East, Michikimau West, Bay of Islands, Nipishish and McPhayden River. The minister said: "Monitoring of the movement of the George River herd will continue and hunters are advised that other zones may be opened as the herd migration continues".
