Sandhurst Roxana of Tulsa, Oklahoma, to record 81 kilometres
of vibroseis seismic data in the flat Bay/Robinson's area

The Minister of Mines and Energy, Dr. Rex Gibbons, today announced that Sandhurst Roxana of Tulsa, Oklahoma, will record 81 kilometres of vibroseis seismic data in the Flat Bay/Robinson's area in western Newfoundland during the month of June. The data is to be recorded along existing roads and trails.

"This is the first onshore seismic exploration for petroleum to occur in this area since my department and the Centre for Earth Resources Research acquired a line in 1989," the minister said. "It is encouraging to see industry activity expand into this area. It is also encouraging to see Sandhurst Roxana, which was the successful bidder for the largest number of parcels in the recent Request for Bids, proceed with exploration in such a timely fashion."
