Judicial inquiry to be held into circumstances surrounding death of Nicholas Benteau Edward Roberts, QC, Minister of Justice and Attorney General, today announced that a judicial inquiry will be held into the circumstances surrounding the death of Nicholas Benteau, of Point May. Mr. Benteau died as a result of gun shot wounds sustained following an encounter with the RCMP in Point May in the early morning of March 2, 1996. The date and time of the inquiry will be determined by the Office of the Chief Provincial Court Judge.
