Technology development agreements to be signed

On Wednesday, February 14, Ian Strachan, President of Northern Gas & Liquids of Labrador, will sign an agreement with a Houston-based company for the licensing rights to a newly-developed technology that converts liquid natural gas into downstream products for commercial markets. A second agreement for the marketing and manufacturing of natural gas conversion plants will be signed with Marystown Shipyard Limited. The two agreements, that could translate into significant long- term work for the Marystown Shipyard, will be signed in the Garrison/Signal Room, Hotel Newfoundland following an information briefing that begins at 10 a.m.

Mr. Strachan will be joined by Brian Tobin, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador; Chuck Furey, Minister of Industry, Trade and Technology; Thomas J. O'Reilly, Q.C., Chairman of the Board of Directors for Marystown Shipyard Limited; Tom O'Dell, Chief Executive Officer of Carlton Energy Group, Houston, Texas; Francisco Villaveces, Chief Executive Officer of Energia Andina, Houston, Texas; and Michael Hoyle, Vice President of Drexel HydraRig, Fort Worth, Texas.
