General manager appointed for Marystown Shipyard Limited

Thomas J. O'Reilly, Q.C Chairman of the Board of Directors for Marystown Shipyard Limited (MSL), announced today the appointment of Malcolm Weatherston as general manager. With over 20 years experience in project management and control of onshore/offshore oil and gas development projects within Europe and North America, Mr. Weatherston has proven capabilities in project planning, engineering and construction management, offshore installation and major contract administration.

He fills the position left vacant by the recent resignation of Max Ruelokke, who is now president of the Bull Arm Site Development Corporation. With MSL since January 1994, Mr. Weatherston has been employed in a project management capacity. His appointment is effective today.

In welcoming Mr. Weatherston in his new capacity, Chuck Furey, Minister of Industry, Trade and Technology, reaffirmed government's commitment to work with management, employees and the Board of Directors toward a common goal of viability for the Marystown Shipyard. He also thanked Mr. Ruelokke for providing solid leadership during a period of frequent change. He said: "Mr. Ruelokke has been directly involved in many of the major changes that have taken place in recent years that are aimed at improving the overall operations at MSL. I commend and thank Mr. Ruelokke for his contribution and wish him well in his new position."
