Health Minister announces steering committee for central

Health Minister Lloyd Matthews today announced the members of the steering committee that will oversee the review of health services in Central Newfoundland. The committee comprises five members representing all health boards in the region as well as government. Committee members are; Dave Lewis, CEO Central East Health Care Institutions Board; Don Keats, CEO Central West Health Care Institutions Board; Neal Ludlow, CEO Central Regional Community Health Board; Roy Manuel, Department of Health; and George Greenland of the Department of Works, Services and Transportation.

The committee ensures strong representation from all areas in the Central Newfoundland region said the minister. The Terms of Reference will be available publicly in the near future once the steering committee has finalized them, Mr. Matthews added.

The steering committee is charged with overseeing a comprehensive review of all health programs and services throughout the Central Newfoundland region. The review is intended to determine present and future health needs of the region and to organize the health system in a way that best meets those needs. The review is expected to be completed by the fall.
