Extension to caribou hunting zone in Labrador

The minister responsible for wildlife, Beaton Tulk, announced today that effective immediately, the Orma North Zone in Labrador is open to caribou hunting. Reports from the Wildlife Division indicate that thousands from the George River herd have now moved into this area and have been sighted as far down as Marie Lake. The minister said: "I am pleased to be able to provide additional hunting opportunities for Labrador residents."

Wildlife staff will continue to monitor the movement of caribou in this zone.
