Big Game Licence Draw completed

The Minister of Forest Resources and Agrifoods, Beaton Tulk, announced today that the Big Game Licence Draw, for moose/caribou licences, has been completed. Notifications to applicants indicating their success or failure to obtain a licence are currently being mailed.

The minister pointed out that approximately 53,000 applications were received by the Wildlife Division from hunters seeking a licence in the annual draw process. In excess of 13,000 applications were also received from hunters wishing to advance only their priority status for next year.

The deadline for receipt of Fall Black Bear applications and licence fee has been extended to Friday, July 12, 1996, by the minister in order to accommodate bear hunters awaiting the outcome of their moose/caribou application.
