Resource Road contract for Gander District

Sandra Kelly, MHA - Gander, and Beaton Tulk, Minister of Forest Resources and Agrifoods, announced today the award of a $56,250.72 contract to carry out construction of two kilometres of Class "B" resource road at Crown Ridge.

Critch's Construction Limited of Springdale was awarded the contract to carry out new construction at Crown Ridge. The road is needed to provide access to timber stands for commercial operators to harvest overmature black spruce stands. "The road will also allow access for silvicultural work and monitoring of the regeneration of the forest." said Ms. Kelly.

The project is expected to employ four people. Work will commence early July and will take approximately seven weeks.

The project is fully funded by the Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods.
