Contract to replace three existing bridges in Goosebery Waters area in Baie Verte District

Beaton Tulk, Minister of Forest Resources and Agrifoods, announced today the award of a $52,550.40 contract to carry out work required to replace three existing bridges in the Gooseberry Waters area in the Baie Verte District.

James P. Gillam Contracting Limited of South Branch was awarded the contract to carry out the work to replace these bridges which have become unsafe for use. The structures are needed to provide continued access into the Gooseberry Waters area for silvicultural treatments of the forest resource. "Upkeep of resource roads around the province is vital to our forestry industry," said the minister.

The project is expected to employ six people. Work will commence late May, and will take approximately three weeks.

The project is fully funded by the Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods.
