Contract for resoure road construction Ten Mile Lake

Beaton Tulk, Minister of Forest Resources and Agrifoods, announced today the award of a $19,420 contract to carry out a resource road construction project at Ten Mile Lake in Lewisporte district. The project is expected to employ eight people.

Mr. Tulk said that Anderson Logging Limited of Birchy Head, Bonne Bay was awarded the contract to carry out the construction of 1.5 kilometres of resource road.

Lewisporte MHA, Melvin Penny says he's happy to see such work take place, adding, that the provision of access to mature and overmature timber of Crown land is a valuable service to commercial operations, and provides access to carry out long term silvicultural work.

Work will commence May 26 and last for approximately four weeks.

The project is fully funded by the Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods.
