NOTE TO EDITORS:

Premier to take part in national launch of CanNetWork

The official launch of the CanWorkNet partnership and Internet web site will take place in a national video conference on Monday, November 4, in Room 4004 at Spencer Hall on the north side of Memorial University Campus. The video news conference will have five interactive video conference sites across the country in Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia.

Premier Brian Tobin will represent the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Human Resources Development Canada will be represented in Ottawa by Pierre Pettigrew or his designate, as well as Premier Frank McKenna from New Brunswick and premiers or their representatives from Alberta and British Columbia.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

1:00 p.m.      Reception with invited guests 
               Opportunity to view educational materials surrounding job
               search and training related information.

1:30 p.m.      National video conference with internet hook-up.

2:15 p.m.      National video conference will conclude.
