(Executive Council)

NOTE TO EDITORS:

On September 27, Brian Tobin, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador and Gerry Byrne, Member of Parliament for Humber-St. Barbe-Baie Verte, will officially open the Western Newfoundland Veterans Pavilion at the O'Connell Centre on Hospital Hill in Corner Brook. The ceremony will commence at 2 p.m.

The Western Newfoundland Veterans Pavilion is an 18 long-term care bed unit for priority access by veterans. The opening of the pavilion represents a further step in the direction to provide veterans with a wider range of facilities in the province where they can receive long- term health care.

During the event, a peace tree and tulips will also be planted in remembrance of those who fought for world peace.
