Premier comments on Holy Heart of Mary Chamber Choir

Premier Brian Tobin expressed his sincere congratulations today to the Holy Heart of Mary Chamber Choir on their remarkable success at the 25th Annual Youth and Music Festival. The choir has been ranked first in the world as a result of their performance in Vienna, Austria.

"These young people and their choir director Ms. Susan Quinn should be commended for their outstanding performance during this trip to Europe. They are great ambassadors for the province and for the country, and we could not be more proud of their accomplishments" said Premier Tobin. The choir also received a special award from the City of Vienna.

The choir has been in Europe for the past several days performing at the festival and performing in several areas including Vienna and Munich. They are as well one of two choirs selected to perform the Beethoven Choral Fantasy under the direction of the Festival Director, Bernard Keeffe.

"I look forward to their safe return to Newfoundland and Labrador and especially look forward to an opportunity to enjoy a concert by this truly world class choir," the premier said.
