NOTE TO EDITORS:

Members of the media are invited to attend the seventh annual Newfoundland and Labrador Environmental Awards ceremony at the Freshwater Resource Centre, St. John's, Tuesday, June 4, 1996 at 7:00 p.m. At that time, Kevin Aylward, Minister of Environment and Labour will bring greetings and present awards. Mrs. Deris Hollett, Provincial President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Women's Institutes will also address the gathering. This year's awards will be presented to twelve individuals/groups for their work in having contributed in a meaningful way to the preservation, protection and restoration of our environment.

Further details on the winners and their projects/programs will be announced at the ceremony.
