Provincial high school scholarship winners
Roger Grimes, Minister of Education, is pleased to announce the winners of the 1996 high school scholarships. The 201 scholarships range in value from $1,000 to $2,500 and are based on achievement on the scholarship examination prepared by the Department of Education.
The Junior Jubilee Scholarship is awarded to the student who scored highest for the province on the scholarship examination. This scholarship is valued at $2,500.
The Constable W.C. Moss Scholarship is awarded to the son or daughter of a member of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary or the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (active, retired, or deceased) who scored the highest on the scholarship examination. This scholarship is valued at $1,000.
The Electoral District Scholarships are awarded to the three high school graduates in each district who scored highest on the scholarship examination. The value of each of these scholarships is $1,000.
The 55 Centenary of Responsible Government Scholarships are also awarded based on achievement on the scholarship examination, and are valued at $1,000 each.
